Ingredients
1
15.25 oz box
chocolate cake mix (I used devil's food)
⅓
cup
vegetable oil
2
eggs, divided
8
oz
block cream cheese, softened
⅓
cup
sugar
½
tsp
vanilla extract
½
tsp
almond extract
⅓
cup
semisweet chocolate chips
¼
cup
sliced almonds
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350° and spray a 7x11 baking dish with nonstick spray. Set the dish aside.
In a medium bowl, mix the cake mix, vegetable oil, and one egg by hand until everything is well-incorporated. It will be somewhat crumbly.
Press the cake mix mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes.
While that bakes, mix one egg, cream cheese, sugar, and extracts well.
Spread the cream cheese mixture over the baked crust layer.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips and almonds evenly over the cream cheese layer.
Bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges of the cheesecake are just beginning to turn a light golden brown.
Allow to cool before chilling in the refrigerator for several hours.
Cut into bars and enjoy!
