Ingredients
1lbground beef
1egg
¼cupbreadcrumbs
⅓cupold-fashioned oats
½tspMrs. Dash Original
½-1packetonion soup mix, such as Lipton (adjust the amount to your taste preference)
½tspdried chives
¼tspgarlic powder
2packetsbrown gravy mix
2cupswater
Instructions
In a medium to large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, oats, and seasonings together. Mix just until combined - do not overmix.
Separate the mixture into 5 portions, and form a round and flat patty with each portion. I like to make the patties about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
Place the patties in a single layer in a non-stick skillet. If your skillet isn't non-stick, be sure to spread a little oil or nonstick spray in the pan before placing the patties in it.
Brown the patties in the skillet over medium heat. Once one side is browned, carefully flip the patties over to brown the other side.
While the patties are browning, mix the gravy mix and water in a bowl. Be sure to whisk out any clumps in the mix so you have a smooth gravy.
After both sides of the ground beef patties are browned, pour the gravy mixture over the patties in the skillet.
Allow the gravy to come to a boil, then turn the heat down to low or medium-low so the gravy is at a simmer.
Cover the skillet and allow to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the salisbury steaks are fully cooked and the gravy has thickened.
